Hello Eressea,
Next Saturday, E3 players will receive an updated version of the current
report, with a few subtle changes, and one not-so-subtle one.
In the current report, monsters have issued a large number of attack
orders on players, a change that was both surprising and unannounced.
Monsters in E3 have been docile for so long that players were
interpreting this as a feature of the game. I can't honestly say that I
blame you for that. It was an oversight on my part that caused them to
be so friendly, and another one that caused them to become active all of
a sudden. This isn't just bad communication on my part, it is bad
software development. I would like to get better at that in the future,
and to make up for the huge losses that some factions have duffered, I
have decided to re-run the turn with the same orders and data, but with
the following changes:
1. Monsters will not attack this week, but will slowly come back to life
over the following months. So you can no longer ignore that Wyrm in your
main region, but you hopefully get some time to prepare.
2. Monsters that roam the region will no longer attack units in a
building, unless those units are guarding. This is a small upgrade to
castles, and I think it makes a lot of sense.
Apologies for the late announcement, but my time is really limited at
the moment. We're working behind the scenes to put Eressea on more
professional processes, to improve the quality of our software, and get
better control of releases.
Enno.
